We are very proud of the wonderful reviews parents have submitted about our nursery.  Visit our Day Nurseries page to read more reviews and ratings.

My son really enjoys Celtic Cross. They have lots of outside time where there is both space to run around and plenty to play with. The children are allowed freedom of choice as well as some more structured learning e.g. this month is all about boats. Overall, the nursery is welcoming and I know that I am happy my child is happy and well looked after.

Celtic Cross is a great facility which both my children have enjoyed. The activities they run on a daily basis are super for the development of the children but more importantly, they're fun!

An amazing place with wonderful staff. My daughter is in the robins and she adores every member of staff in there. The girls that works there are just incredible people with so much patience and love for the children. My daughter's confidence and speech have developed so much!! The children get so many opportunities for new activities, outside and messy play and are always fed well! The manager that runs the nursery is wonderful and extremely helpful also! It really is a lovely place! I really, really can't thank the nursery enough.

An excellently managed nursery, with caring thoughtful and forward thinking staff, in a lovely environment. My kids are very happy going there. One of my children is transitioning to school this year and I know that the nursery has had a key role to play in ensuring that he is ready for it. I am so glad I didn't think about sending my kids anywhere else. I would not hesitate to recommend it highly to other parents.

We are extremely happy with the standard of care Celtic Cross nursery provides. Both our young boys love their nursery time. Our eldest son has been in attendance since 13 months old and our youngest since he was 18 months and although it's never an easy choice to leave your children with anyone else it's made less stressful knowing that they will have a brilliant day with a devoted and enthusiastic team.

Our daughter has been enrolled at Celtic Cross since the age of 9 months (February 2013 to Present) and my husband and I simply cannot fault a minute of that period. We were already aware of Celtic Cross' long-standing history of excellence as a nursery when we made the decision to enroll our daughter; indeed some of the parents of children at the nursery now went there themselves!

The staff is ever welcoming and is especially adept at supporting new children and parents through the initial stages of registration and settling in. They are accommodating to the maximum, always willing to help and absolutely fantastic with the children. Our daughter enjoys every moment she is there and loves catching up with 'her' Big Ladies when we see them outside of nursery.

I am so glad that we had a setting like Celtic Cross available in our local area and fully recommend it to all parents and parents-to-be.

Dear families,

We are pleased to share with you our exciting plans for the future of our nurseries. Bertram Nursery Group has provided a trusted, caring and quality service to thousands of families over two decades.  That isn’t changing, but we want to grow and develop our services, facilities and, most of all, our teams who make our nurseries and kindergartens such inspiring places for children.

That’s why we’re changing our name to Thrive Childcare and Education, because that’s at the heart of what we’re about – helping our children, staff and communities to thrive.

While changing our company name and the names of some of our nurseries is the next step of our development journey, we’ll still have the same dedicated teams caring for your children.

The Covid-19 pandemic has reinforced our belief that we need to adapt and invest in a constantly changing world to continue providing the service that parents and children need, tailored to the communities we support across Scotland and North West England.

Since our foundation, we have acquired some fantastic groups of nurseries and many high-quality independent nurseries. Now we are uniting them under four Thrive groupings:

  • Happitots nurseries will extend beyond Glasgow and South Lanarkshire to provide a network of affordable, flexible nurseries across Scotland.
  • Holyrood nurseries will extend more widely across our network of affordable nurseries in North West England, recognising parents’ and community needs.
  • Corner House nurseries will now extend from Edinburgh to operate more widely across Scotland, providing an extensive range of exciting, extracurricular activities and large outdoor areas.
  • Nature Kindergartens, our new sub-group, will reflect our vision to develop children’s outdoor learning. We plan to expand our Nature Kindergartens network in Scotland and England because we believe children’s learning is greatly enhanced in natural spaces.
