Settling In Sessions
Our nursery offers settling in sessions. Parents can bring their child for a couple of hours first, gradually introducing the child to a new environment. Settling in sessions are aimed at helping your child to adapt to their new surroundings and become more familiar with the staff and other children.
Eco Schools
Eco Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world and is designed to encourage action on sustainable development education issues. Our children love getting involved in their Eco Schools projects and learning about how to help protect the environment.
Community Outings
Our nursery enjoys great ties with our local community and we are often out and about visiting local sights and getting involved in events. We also take some of the children to the local sheltered housing group where we go singing a couple of times a year for them.

Special Activities
The children also take part in different festivals throughout the year, e.g. Chinese New Year, Burns Night, Halloween and Christmas, where we will explore the traditions they involve through lots of fun activities, dress ups and song!
Interactive Smartboard
Our Interactive Smart Boards offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.
Graduation
We celebrate the big move to primary school with a special graduation ceremony each year—caps, gowns, the works!

Fundraising Activities
Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. We participate in a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. We do a week of different activities around Red Nose Day and Children in Need Day so that all of the children can join in with the event. We also take part in Barnardo's Big Toddle and support Macmillan Big Coffee Mornings.
Parent Communication
In recognition that education begins in the home, we are fully committed to a partnership approach with parents. Parents are kept up to date with monthly newsletters, parent focus groups and annual parent’s evenings. Parents are also able to keep up to date with activities going on in the nursery by following our social media accounts; Celtic Cross Facebook, Bertram Group Twitter and Bertram Group Instagram.
E-Learning Journals
E-Learning Journals allow you to see your child’s activities at nursery with the click of a button. Staff upload images and notes about your child's participation in activities at nursery for you to access wherever you are. Our nursery tablets offer exciting and stimulating learning experiences tailored to challenge and engage little ones.

Farm to Fork Trails
Farm to Fork Trails provide the opportunity for children to visit Tesco stores and suppliers to gain hands-on experience to learn about where their food comes from. We participate in this project to give children the tools they need to make informed decisions about what they put on their plates when they grow up.
Christmas Shows
We celebrate Christmas by putting on a wonderful Christmas show for friends and family each year. There's always much excitement in preparing for the show as we learn songs and organise our special dress ups.
